چکیده
Feiz, Masoud, "Development of a polynomial nodal model to the multigroup transport equation in one dimension " (1986). While the most advanced technology has been used to photograph and reproduce this manuscript, the quality of the reproduction is heavily dependent upon the quality of the material submitted. For example: • Manuscript pages may have indistinct print. In such cases, the best available copy has been filmed. • Manuscripts may not always be complete. In such cases, a note will indicate that it is not possible to obtain missing pages. • Copyrighted material may have been removed from the manuscript. In such cases, a note will indicate the deletion. Oversize materials (e.g., maps, drawings, and charts) are photographed by sectioning the original, beginning at the upper left-hand comer and continuing from left to right in equal sections with small overlaps. Each oversize page is also filmed as one exposure and is available, for an additional charge, as a standard 35mm slide or as a 17"x 23" black and white photographic print. Most photographs reproduce acceptably on positive microfilm or microfiche but lack the clarity on xerographic copies made from the microfilm. For an additional charge, 35mm slides of 6"x 9" black and white photographic prints are available for any photographs or illustrations that cannot be reproduced satisfactorily by xerography. 1986 Signature was redacted for privacy.

Progress in Nodal Methods for the Solution of the Neutron Diffusion and Transport Equations
-Recent progress in the development of coarse-mesh nodal methods for the numerical solution of the neutron diffusion and transport equations is reviewed. In contrast with earlier nodal simulators, more recent nodal diffusion methods are characterized by the systematic derivation of spatial coupling relationships that are entirely consistent with the multigroup diffusion equation. These relation...
متن کاملA Nodal Expansion Method for Solving the Multigroup Sp3 Equations in the Reactor Code Dyn3d
The core model DYN3D which has been developed for three-dimensional analyses of steady states and transients in thermal reactors with quadratic or hexagonal fuel assemblies is based on nodal methods for the solution of the two-group neutron diffusion equation. Loading cores with higher content of MOX fuel, the increase of the fuel cycle length and new types of reactors are challenging for these...
متن کاملNUMERICAL SOLUTION OF ONE-DIMENSIONAL HEAT AND WAVE EQUATION BY NON-POLYNOMIAL QUINTIC SPLINE
This paper present a novel numerical algorithm for the linear one-dimensional heat and wave equation. In this method, a nite dierenceapproach had been used to discrete the time derivative while cubic spline isapplied as an interpolation function in the space dimension. We discuss theaccuracy of the method by expanding the equation based on Taylor series andminimize the error. The proposed metho...
متن کاملSimulations of transport in one dimension
Advection-dispersion equation is solved in numerically by using combinations of differential quadrature method (DQM) and various time integration techniques covering some explicit or implicit single and multi step methods. Two different initial boundary value problems modeling conservative and nonconservative transports of some substance represented by initial data are chosen as test problems. ...
متن کاملModel Based Method for Determining the Minimum Embedding Dimension from Solar Activity Chaotic Time Series
Predicting future behavior of chaotic time series system is a challenging area in the literature of nonlinear systems. The prediction's accuracy of chaotic time series is extremely dependent on the model and the learning algorithm. On the other hand the cyclic solar activity as one of the natural chaotic systems has significant effects on earth, climate, satellites and space missions. Several m...
